Actos, medically termed as Pioglitazone Hydrochloride, is a drug used for reducing insulin resistance. This drug is applied to treat non-insulin-dependent Diabetes Mellitus or adult-onset diabetes. Though studies carried out by pharmacologists demonstrate that Actos meliorates sensitivity to insulin in muscle and tissues containing fat and subdues Hepatic Gluconeogenesis, yet actos and bladder cancer are closely relative. Patients, on whom Actos is applied, may be carrying a risk of developing bladder cancer and the researchers have suggested using Pioglitazone with caveat in patients. The researchers have also advised such diabetic patients to closely interact with their physicians in case they have the following symptoms leading to Actos and bladder cancer:
i) any sign of blood in the urine;
ii) red colour urine;
iii) worsening urinary urgency;
iv) Pain on urination since taking Actos.
If you have already suffered from any side effect of the application of Atos, you may be having right to seek advice from the Atos Bladder Cancer Lawyers filing up an appeal for compensation.
